Highway Accident Near Los Banos Injures Passenger – $475,000
Our client was traveling down Highway 152 as a passenger in her friend’s vehicle. As the two women neared Los Banos, the friend’s vehicle unexpectedly stalled on the roadway. Despite driving in the ‘slow’ lane, the driver behind them slammed into the car at high speed.
Our client was taken by ambulance to the emergency room at the Madera hospital, where she was assessed for injuries and later transferred to the trauma center in Fresno. With a collapsed lung, two vertebral fractures to her spine and a knee injury, she was kept at the trauma center for five days. Due to her accident injuries and the time needed for treatment, she lost her job at the Foster Farms chicken plant shortly afterward. For nearly a year she was left unable to work.
During that time, Dunnion Law helped her get the medical treatment and physical therapy she needed to help with her knee injuries and back issues. As her treatment continued over the next several months, our attorneys obtained medical care for our client – going the extra mile to get a second opinion when she had concerns about undergoing knee surgery. While her health and physical condition improved, Dunnion Law was also in pursuit of the at-fault driver, an owner of a local farming business, and his insurance.
After several rounds of negotiations with the insurance company, and with litigation pending, our attorney successfully won a large settlement of $475,000. With her settlement, she recovered enough to cover all her bills, and has enough to live comfortably for some time.
